THOMAS DAY, DVM, MS, DACVAA, DACVECC, CVA, Cert IVUSS

Dr. Tom Day earned his BS (1983), DVM (1988), and MS (1992) from Ohio State University. Board-certified in veterinary anesthesiology (1992) and emergency and critical care (1998), he is also a certified veterinary acupuncturist (2008) and holds certification from the International Veterinary Ultrasound Society (2023). With over 25 years of imaging experience, he specializes in renal imaging for azotemic dogs and cats and echocardiography for both primary cardiac disorders and systemic diseases. Outside work, Dr. Day enjoys time with his wife and daughters and competing in long-distance triathlons.

Greg Kuhlman, dvm, dacvim (SAIM)

Dr. Greg Kuhlman earned his DVM from the University of Wisconsin in 2009, followed by an internship at VCA Animal Emergency and Referral Center and an internal medicine residency at Texas A&M. He specializes in gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, immune-mediated, and infectious diseases, with a passion for sporting dog health. An avid competitor, breeder, and judge in English Springer Spaniel field trials since 1999, he blends veterinary expertise with hands-on experience. Outside of work, he enjoys upland hunting, fly fishing, and Ironman triathlons, and is a dedicated fan of the Packers, Bucks, and Wisconsin Badgers.

Jack Hamersky, DVM, MS, DACVR

Dr. Jack Hamersky, DVM, MS, DACVR is a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist and Assistant Professor at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. A former emergency veterinarian, he is passionate about education and public health advocacy, with a focus on integrating public health principles into veterinary imaging. Dr. Hamersky is committed to advancing diagnostic imaging practices through educational excellence, working to enhance veterinary practices and improve patient care through innovative imaging techniques and research.

Laura Cousins, DVM, MS, DACVIM (SAIM)

Dr. Cousins earned her DVM from Texas A&M University in 2001, followed by a year-long internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Washington State University. She completed a three-year residency in internal medicine and a Master of Science in infectious disease at the University of Georgia by 2005. Now based in Upstate, she specializes in cardiac conditions, ultrasound techniques, immune-mediated diseases, and chronic kidney disease at Upstate Vet. Outside the clinic, Dr. Cousins enjoys spending time with family, reading, and exploring the art of culinary innovations.

Nekesa Morey, BVM&S, MRCVS, MS, DACVIM (Cardiology)

Dr. Morey, originally from Nairobi, Kenya, earned her veterinary degree at the University of Edinburgh. After completing a rotating internship in Denver and a cardiology specialty internship in Seattle, she completed her cardiology residency in Columbia, Missouri, achieving board certification in 2023. Currently, she works in the cardiology department at the Royal Veterinary College in London. Outside of work, Nekesa enjoys walking, hiking, biking with her partner, Paul, and cooking for friends and family.

Jon powers, DVM, DACVR

Dr. Powers, a board-certified veterinary radiologist, joined SVS Imaging in 2024. He holds a BS from St. Norbert College and a DVM from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Powers completed a small animal medicine internship and diagnostic imaging residency at Veterinary Specialty Center.He is passionate about using technology to assist clinicians in diagnosing and monitoring disease.

Dr. Powers lives with his wife, Jordan, and two small dogs, Izzy and Gracie, in the Chicago suburbs. Outside of work, Dr. Powers enjoys traveling, exercising, and reading.

Micah bishop DVM, PhD, DACVIM (SAIM) 

Dr. Micah Bishop, a Small Animal Internal Medicine specialist since 2014, has focused on ultrasound and IM consulting since 2017, including five years with Antech Imaging Services. Passionate about delivering pragmatic clinical insights, he also performs echocardiography to address local needs in Naples, Florida.

Dr. Bishop, his wife (a GP vet), and their daughter enjoy the subtropical outdoors. On their 1.2-acre farm, he cultivates tropical fruits and raises poultry, aiming for self-sustainability.

ERIKA FROEMING, CVT, clincal SONOGRAPHER

Erika joined SVS Imaging in 2024 as a clinical sonographer after a successful 15-year career with a veterinary distribution company. Her experience in veterinary imaging sales sparked her passion for sonography, building on a foundation that began as a kennel attendant, progressed to veterinary assistant, and culminated in her certification as a CVT. Erika is dedicated to advancing in-clinic diagnostic imaging, partnering with veterinary teams to make cutting-edge care more accessible. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband, son, and animals on their farmette, along with paddlesports, camping, and habitat management.

TOM MCNEILL, CLINICAL SONOGRAPHEr

Tom joined SVS Imaging in 2022, bringing over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Tampa in 2004 and advanced from kennel attendant to veterinary sonographer. Before SVS, Tom spent 17 years at the largest VCA specialty hospital in the Midwest as the lead diagnostic imaging technician, specializing in radiography, fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, and ultrasound. Passionate about training, he traveled nationally to develop imaging protocols. Outside work, Tom enjoys time with his wife, two kids, two dogs, and two cats, and competes in powerlifting.

Kim Liedberg, CLINICAL SONOGRAPHER

Kim joined SVS Imaging in 2020, bringing over 25 years of experience as a specialty veterinary technician in radiation oncology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, and surgery. She graduated from the Technical School of Medicine in Naperville, Illinois, in 2004 as a human sonographer specializing in vascular and general ultrasound. Combining her passion for ultrasound and veterinary medicine, Kim spent six years traveling nationwide to train veterinarians in abdominal scanning techniques. She lives in Walworth, Wisconsin, with her husband and two dogs, Jaxon and Bear—her loyal ultrasound training companion.

Sarah Pender, CVT, CLINICAL SONOGRAPHER

Sarah joined SVS Imaging in 2019, bringing extensive experience in veterinary medicine and a passion for ultrasonography. A 2002 graduate of the Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology, she also earned a Certificate in Practice Management from Purdue University in 2014 and became an SDEP-certified sonographer in 2020. With a background spanning general practice, dentistry, ophthalmology, pathology, and emergency medicine, Sarah thrives in fast-paced environments. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, fishing, and archery. She lives in the Quad Cities with her two daughters, several cats, and two dogs, Gus and Mini.

Amy Mayhew, LVT, CLINICAL SONOGRAPHER

Amy graduated from MSU in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology. She spent over 15 years at Oakland Veterinary Referral Services, developing a passion for ultrasound while working alongside Dr. Cheryl Rice in internal medicine. In 2018, Amy earned her certificate of proficiency in soft tissue ultrasound through WAVE, followed by a certificate in echocardiography in 2020. She is dedicated to making advanced diagnostic tools more accessible in veterinary medicine. In her free time, Amy enjoys camping near the Great Lakes with her family and caring for their many rescued animals.

CARRI UNDERWOOD, CLINICAL SONOGRAPHER

Carri has been in veterinary medicine since 1998, gaining experience in roles from receptionist to technician and manager. After years in general practice, she transitioned to emergency medicine in 2011, where she discovered her passion for veterinary abdominal ultrasound. In 2015, Carri earned an Advanced Imaging Certificate from the Academy of Veterinary Imaging and has since performed hundreds of diagnostic ultrasounds. Beyond imaging, she found fulfillment guiding families through end-of-life pet care. Outside work, Carri enjoys camping, kayaking, gardening, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs, Ocho and Ludo.

Chaley hunt, lvt, CLINICAL SONOGRAPHER

Chaley, a licensed veterinary technician with 17 years of experience in small animal practice, began her career after earning her Veterinary Technology degree in Washington State. Known for her resilience and adaptability, she’s been a vital part of the Jackson, Michigan veterinary community, excelling in anesthesia, dental procedures, imaging, and client education. Chaley holds certifications in abdominal ultrasound (Sonopath), Fear-Free, and Cat-Friendly practices. Outside work, she enjoys reading, cooking, TRX and water aerobics, and biking along the Falling Waters Trail. At home, she’s entertained by her three spirited cats.

Kristi Palmer, Director of Marketing

Kristi is a B2B Marketing Specialist with over a decade of experience in the veterinary medicine industry, specializing in delivering exceptional client experiences. Her expertise spans veterinary telemedicine, teleradiology, ultrasound education, and continuing education, where she drives business growth through optimized CRM implementations and strategic marketing initiatives. Known for her strengths in event planning, customer service management, and sales enablement, Kristi thrives in dynamic, growth-focused environments. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, yoga, gardening, skating, exploring nature, and rock climbing.

Liz joined SVS Imaging in 2023, bringing 16 years of experience from the front office of an Illinois animal hospital. At SVS Imaging, she efficiently manages mobile ultrasound scheduling, training logistics, marketing, and other evolving responsibilities. Holding a BS from Western Michigan University in Travel & Tourism/Geography, Liz’s passion for exploration continues. She now enjoys serene lake life in northern Wisconsin with her husband, four rescue cats, and three children. Liz also cares for orphaned kittens, finding joy in Wisconsin’s landscapes while keeping a special place in her heart for Michigan.
